Winter is upon us. It's getting colder day by day, so you'll be needing something to make your ears warm. This hat is both quick and easy to make. And you can't have too many hats, right?

Materials needed
Yarn: Your choice of sport or worsted weight. Approximately 1 - 1, 5 skeins, depending on your choice of yarn.
Hook: 4mm or size needed to obtain gauge
(5 5dc-groups [see pattern]=4")
Tapestry needle

Ch: chain
Dc: double crochet
Sl st: slip stitch
Fpdc: front post double crochet
Bpdc: back post double crochet
Prev: previous
Beg: beginning

hat is made to fit a small/medium woman's head. However it is easy to make this in different sizes by crocheting more or less increase rounds.

Ch 5, join with sl st to form a ring
Round 1: ch 3, 11 dc in ring, join with sl st in 3rd ch of beg ch 3.
Round 2: ch 3, dc in same st as joining *2 dc in each dc* throughout =24 dc
Round 3: sl st in 3rd ch of beg ch 3 from prev round, sl st in next dc* 3 dc in sp between "2dc-group" from prev round* throughout = 36 dc
Round 4: sl st in each of the 3 dcs in 1st dc-group, 4 dc in space between clusters throughout = 48 dc
Round 5: sl st in each of the 4 dcs in 1st dc-group, 5 dc in space between clusters throughout = 60 dc
Round 6 - 18: rep. Round 5
Round 19: 1 dc in each dc throughout(1st dc=ch3), join with sl st in 3rd ch from beg ch3
